When Students Don’t Make Sufficient Progress in Reading Interventions: Learn From Dr. Carolyn Denton
The Northern Ohio Branch of the International Dyslexia Association (NOBIDA) is excited to announce our upcoming 37th Annual Symposium, Celebrating Differences: Literacy That Empowers Every Learner, scheduled for Friday, November 14, 2025, at Walsh University in Canton, Ohio. This year, we are honored to welcome 3 in-person, keynote presenters.
Meet Dr. Carolyn Denton
Presentation Highlights:
Some students require instructional adaptations to make accelerated growth, even when they are provided with evidence-based reading intervention. Students with limitations in working memory and self-regulation, including students with ADHD, often face this challenge. In her presentation, Dr. Denton describes and demonstrates strategies that teachers can implement to help accelerate student progress, without compromising fidelity to an evidence-based reading intervention program.
Practical Teaching Applications:
- Gain skills to help identify possible reasons for slow student response to evidence-based reading intervention.
- Learn 3+ instructional adaptations to implement and help accelerate student progress without compromising fidelity to an evidence-based program.
