Pam Kanfer Scholarship

NOBIDA is offering the Pam Kanfer Scholarship for a Structured Literacy Training Program towards certification (including a practicum) during the 2025-2026 school year. The recipient will be able to choose from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce’s Approved List of Evidence-Based Reading Intervention Programs. The Pam Kanfer Scholarship will cover the majority of the cost of certification of a valid, structured literacy training program for a board-approved applicant.

Educators, administrators, speech-language pathologists, and college education students are encouraged to apply. Scholarships are available to persons who do not have another sponsor (such as an employer or school district). Our goal is for applicants accepting this scholarship to utilize the certification to benefit children/adults in their pursuit of literacy and to become a member of the IDA.

All applicants will be considered except members of the NOBIDA Board and Advisory and their families. Payments will be directly made to the approved institute program rather than the recipient. If the program and practicum are not completed, then the recipient must pay back the scholarship funds in full.

Application Deadline: March 13, 2025

Jean Armus Scholarship

The International Dyslexia Association-Northern Ohio Branch (NOBIDA) is pleased to offer the Jean Armus Scholarship attendance to the annual Symposium.

The Jean Armus Scholarship will cover 90% of the total symposium registration fee, leaving an amount of $25 due for all scholarship recipients. We strongly encourage educators, parents/guardians, individuals with dyslexia, and college education students to apply. This scholarship is designated for individuals without alternative sponsorship (such as from an employer or school district). All applicants will be considered, except members of the NOBIDA Board and Advisory and/or their families
